Life is a Highway

But I like to drive in the slow lane to take in the views

Michael and I have a lot we want to accomplish on this road trip- we want to visit friend and family, see amazing national parks, read in hammocks and kayak in lakes. However, we also want to be able to be flexible. That’s part of the luxury of van life - we have everything we need so we can go anywhere.

Our Plans

We want to do a circular route so that we aren’t covering the same ground multiple times. Since we are starting in the summer, our plan is to head north where the weather will be more manageable. Then when things get colder we will take refuge in the warmth of the South. This is the tentative timeline we will be following:

July (Florida, Carolinas, Virginia, Maine, New York)

August (New York, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Colorado)

September (Northern Utah, Montana, Washington, California)

October (California, Arizona, Southern Utah, Arizona,)

November (New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Florida)

National Parks

One of the main things we want to do one this trip is visit some of the United States National Parks. We purchased an Annual Pass for the Parks, but with the recent pandemic many of these parks require advance reservations. We are researching when to reserve and will share our tips with you!
